Fado show

This concert is offered by Casa da Guitarra. Born in popular urban neighborhoods, this very particular song, together with the Portuguese guitar, consecrates fado as a cultural expression of the country, a manifestation of the soul of an entire people. Casa da Guitarra presents a traditional fado show, lasting approximately 60 minutes, in the historic center of Porto with the Luís I Bridge and the Porto Cathedral as illustrious neighbors. The unique voice of our resident fado singer, accompanied by the Portuguese Guitar and Fado Viola and Port wine. Casa da Guitarra is a musical instrument store, especially dedicated to traditional music chordophones. The Casa da Guitarra project, designed by Alfredo Teixeira, was born in 2012 and its main intention is to create a space where the construction and dissemination of traditional Portuguese chordophones is promoted. Being a musical instrument store, it also supplies wood and other materials for the construction of musical instruments, promotes concerts, exhibitions, music classes and workshops. The exchange of experiences between musicians, guitarists and music lovers is expected to contribute not only to the preservation of our heritage, but also to the emergence of new ideas that make it alive and interesting for the new generations.
